Modern villa swimming pool at dusk — stone coping, lit water, planting beyond

Swimming pool construction for Dubai villas.

Swimming pool construction Dubai from excavation to first fill — shell, waterproofing, plant, finishes, coping and the terrace around it, built as one scope.

A pool is a structure, a waterproofing job and a plant installation

The visible part of a pool is the finish. The parts that decide whether you enjoy it are the reinforced shell, the waterproofing, the hydraulics and the plant room. Swimming pool construction Dubai projects that go wrong usually did so underground — undersized pipework, a plant room with no service access, or a shell that was never designed for the ground conditions.

We build in reinforced concrete, waterproof and pressure-test before finishing, and size filtration and circulation to the actual volume and bather load rather than to whatever pump is in stock. The plant room is planned as a room you can work in, because you will be maintaining it for twenty years.

The pool is also designed with its surroundings. Coping level, terrace falls, deck material, lighting and the planting edge are set out with the pool, so the finished space reads as one thing.

What pool construction includes

Turnkey — one contract from excavation through to water balance at handover.

Design and set-out

Shape, depth profile, water level type, coping level and how the pool relates to the terrace and the house.

Excavation and shell

Excavation, steel reinforcement and sprayed or poured concrete shell designed for local ground conditions.

Waterproofing and testing

Membrane or cementitious tanking followed by a pressure and water-retention test before any finish is applied.

Hydraulics and plant

Balance tank where required, pumps, sand or cartridge filtration, dosing, pipework sized to flow rate, and a serviceable plant room.

Heating and cooling

Heat pumps for winter use and pool chillers for summer — the second matters more in Dubai than most owners expect.

Finishes

Glass mosaic, ceramic tile, quartz or plaster finishes, with waterline detailing chosen for cleaning as much as colour.

Coping and deck

Non-slip stone or porcelain coping and surrounding terrace, laid to fall away from the pool.

Lighting and features

Underwater LED lighting, deck lighting, spillways, sun shelves, jets and integrated spa sections.

Commissioning

First fill, chemical balancing, equipment demonstration and a written maintenance routine.

Pool types

The right choice depends on plot size, levels, budget and how much plant space is available.
Skimmer edge villa pool

Skimmer pool

Water sits below coping level and is drawn through skimmers. Simpler plant, lower cost, no balance tank required.

Deck level overflow pool

Overflow / deck level

Water level flush with the deck, overflowing into a channel and balance tank. The cleanest look and the more involved build.

Infinity edge pool with view

Infinity edge

One or more vanishing edges spilling into a catch basin — needs a level change and careful structural design.

Compact plunge pool in courtyard

Plunge and compact pools

Small-plot pools, often with jets or a spa section, for townhouses and courtyards.

Building a pool in Dubai

Approvals, ground conditions and summer water temperature all shape the specification.

Approvals

Pool construction generally requires developer and authority approval with drawings. This is confirmed and prepared before excavation.

Groundwater and soil

High groundwater in some areas affects shell design, dewatering and hydrostatic relief. It is checked before the shell is designed.

Summer water temperature

Uncooled pools become uncomfortably warm in peak summer. A chiller is often the difference between a pool used year-round and one used half the year.

Evaporation and top-up

Evaporation rates are high. Auto top-up, correct water balance and a cover where practical reduce both water and chemical use.

How pool construction runs

01

Consultation

Intended use, plot constraints, budget range and whether landscaping is part of the project.

02

Survey and design

Levels, access, services and ground assessment, then pool design and plant layout.

03

Approvals and quotation

Drawings prepared for approval alongside an itemised written scope and programme.

04

Construction

Excavation, shell, waterproofing, testing, plant installation, finishes, coping and deck.

05

Commissioning

Fill, balance, handover training and a maintenance schedule.

Send a photo of the plot and its rough dimensions — we can suggest a pool size that fits.
