Built-in outdoor kitchen — stone counter, grill and pergola shade

Outdoor kitchens built into the garden.

An outdoor kitchen Dubai households use all winter — masonry counters, stone tops, real water and power, and shade over the cook.

Outdoor Living · Kitchens

A garden kitchen is a small building, not a piece of furniture

The outdoor kitchens that last here are built in masonry with stone or porcelain tops, marine-grade or powder-coated cabinetry, and services run underground before the paving goes down. Freestanding units bought off a shelf rarely survive two Dubai summers.

The design questions are practical: where the smoke goes, whether the cook faces the guests, how far the sink is from the drainage run, and whether there is shade over the working side. Get those right and the space is used year-round — which is the whole point of an outdoor kitchen Dubai project.

What an outdoor kitchen includes

Built in place and connected to real services.

Layout and design

Counter runs, working triangle, seating relationship, prevailing wind and smoke direction.

Masonry structure

Blockwork carcass with rendered, tiled or stone-clad faces, built off a proper base.

Worktops

Porcelain, granite or quartz suited to UV, heat and outdoor cleaning.

Appliances

Built-in gas or charcoal grills, side burners, pizza ovens, outdoor refrigeration and ice storage.

Sink and plumbing

Water supply, drainage connection and an insulated line to avoid scalding water in summer.

Power and lighting

Weatherproof sockets, task lighting over the counter and ambient lighting for the seating side.

Storage

Weather-resistant cabinets and drawers for utensils, gas bottles and covers.

Shade and shelter

Pergola or canopy over the working side, coordinated with the seating area.

Outdoor cooking in this climate

Materials and positioning matter far more outdoors than indoors.

UV and heat

Dark stone tops become too hot to touch. Lighter surfaces and shade over the counter keep them usable.

Humidity and corrosion

Coastal humidity attacks poor-grade steel quickly. Cabinet and hardware specification is what determines lifespan.

Gas safety

Bottled gas needs ventilated storage and correctly rated regulators and hoses, not an improvised cupboard.

Seasonal use

Most outdoor kitchens here are used heavily October to April. Covers and drainage matter in the months they are not.
