Small rooms show every decision
A bathroom is the least forgiving room to tile. Every wall meets another within two metres, cuts are visible from the door, and the eye reads any misalignment between wall and floor grids immediately.
We set out from the most visible wall, plan cuts to land in corners and behind fittings, align floor joints with wall joints where the design allows, and detail niches and external corners with mitres rather than trim. Tiling goes over verified waterproofing — never straight onto a stripped substrate.

Only if the membrane is intact and can be verified, which usually means it was installed recently and documented. In most older bathrooms, strip-out damages it and re-tanking is the honest answer.

Large formats reduce grout lines and make small rooms look bigger, provided the walls are flat enough. Shower floors are the exception — smaller tiles handle the falls better.
